Isabell Werth and Bella Rose impress to win Grand Prix for the Prize of Stihl

Stuttgart – “I was very pleased with my ride and my fantastic horse. The little mistakes were down to over eagerness.” Isabell Werth (Germany) had a big smile on face after her success at the 30th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle on Saturday morning.

Competing in the dressage Grand Prix for the Prize of Stihl, the pairing’s performance was awarded an impressive 79.380 points by the international jury to earn them 3,000 euro prize money alongside the golden ribbon. The multiple Olympic, World and European Champion saddled her ten-year old Westphalian mare Bella Rose in the qualification for the Grand Prix Special on Sunday morning.

Second was the 2012 Olympic Games silver medal winner with the German team Kristina Sprehe. In the saddle on the 13-year old Hanoverian stallion Desperados FRH she was given 78.540 points and will take home 2,500 euro prize money. “My horse is sometimes a spot too keen in the first class at horse shows. Today he was highly motivated but was a nice ride.”

Back in third was German Dorothee Schneider – also an Olympic silver medallist in London – in the saddle on Silvano, a stallion bred in Holland (75.060). ”It was an excellent ride on a much improved Silvano,” praised horse show director Gotthilf Riexinger, he himself an international dressage judge. “The first three’s horses bode well for the future.”
