The speed jumping for the Prize of WALTER solar, the first of two qualifying classes for Friday’s MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER, at the 29th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show ended in a major surprise on Thursday evening. Last but one to go of the 48 starters, the 51-year old Moroccan Abdelkebir Ouaddar pulverised the previous quickest time set by Germany's Marco Kutscher (64.18) by going round in 61.66 seconds on his nine-year old stallion Quickly de Kreisker. Riding his ten-year old gelding Cornet’s Cristallo, Marco Kutscher, the double European champion in 2005, relegated 2011 European champion Kevin Staut (France) aboard the nine-year old mare Quismy des Vaux HDC (64.71) to third. It means all three riders are in with a good chance of being in the line-up for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER.

The second qualifying class for the second most important jumping event at the equestrian highlight in the state capital will take place on Friday evening at 5.45 when the jumping stars will compete for the Prize of DIW Instandhaltung Ltd. & Co. KG. Only the top 12 from the two qualifying classes will then be eligible for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER which will start later at 10.15.
