El Santo FRH and Isabell Werth win Dressage Grand Prix

Stuttgart – “Dressage Queen” Isabell Werth’s win in the Grand Prix for the Prize of the Firma Stihl, which earned the five-time Olympic Champion 2,500 Euro, at the 27th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show early on Saturday came as no real surprise. The German saddled the ten-year-old gelding in the qualifying class for the Grand Prix Special on Sunday morning and the panel of international judges awarded them 76.787 per cent for their performance.

Last year’s winner Victoria Max-Theurer came second with 74.426 per cent and received 2,000 Euro. She showed the self-bred 11-year-old Oldenburg stallion Augustin upon which she placed fifth in the 2009 European Individual Championship in Windsor. The Austrian was the youngest competitor at both the 2003 European Championships in Hickstead and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens when aged 17 and 18 respectively.

Third was Monica Theodorescu (Germany). Riding the 13-year-old Whisper Württemberger, the three-time Olympic Champion received 74.234 per cent and 1,500 Euro prize money.
