Exactly the same time: Mylene Diederichsmeier and Penelope Leprevost fastest in first qualifying

Stuttgart – Not an easy thing to do: there were two winners in the first qualifying class for Friday’s MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER on Thursday evening. Mylene Diederichsmeier (Germany) and Penelope Leprevost (FRA) both left their rivals trailing in their wake after finishing in exactly the same time (65.37 seconds). They are now well-placed to be in the starting line-up for the MASTER.

Course designer Ulliano Vezzani set a 12 obstacle course with 14 jumps in the arena for the speed jumping competition and 45 starters were looking to win points. At the end of the day it was two women riders that came out on top. Mylene Diederichsmeier saddled up her 10-year-old stallion Quartz, whilst the Frenchwoman was on the 9-year-old grey stallion Mylord Carthago HN. The best male rider was the European Championships team bronze medal winner, Thomas Mühlbauer (Germany) who rode his Windsor mount Asti Spumante, a 14-year-old gelding. The German finished in third place.

Only the 12 best combinations from the two qualifying classes will be given the chance to be in the starting line up for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER. The second qualifying class will begin at 6 o’clock on Friday evening. At stake will be the Prize of the DIW Instandhaltung Ltd. & Co. KG.
