Last, but first: the Bulgarian Rossen Raitchev from Aach wins the BW Bank Indoor Championship

Stuttgart – Last to go, the Bulgarian Rossen Raitchev from the Sportpferdezentrum Aach stables scorched around the course on Capoccino to win the BW Bank Indoor Championship on Thursday evening. Clear in 38.29 seconds, he was more than one and a half seconds quicker than the leader at the time Christian Heim (Germany) on Vallerey (39.95). Third was the 20-year-old Marcel Marschall (Germany) on Vacharco after finishing in 40.37 seconds. Title holder Timo Beck (Germany) had to, of all places, bury his dream of winning for the sixth time at the BW Bank wall - Cayenne refused and Beck was tenth.

“A good horse, a good ride and a bit of luck!” Short and sweet was how the Bulgarian, who has been riding for the Aach stables since 1998 and who has already competed at two Olympic Games, two World and three European Championships, commented on his “coup de main”. Last year he had to return home after just one appearance and “I swore I’d come back and try to win.”

Manfred Rube, the press spokesman of the BW Bank, was highly impressed with Raitchevs winning ride and remarked, when remembering the international experience of the winner, “It’s no disgrace for our Baden Württemberg riders to lose to him.” And then Rube confirmed the Bank would be continuing their sponsorship.
