Stuttgart – Fifteenth into the ring in the first qualifying class for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER on Thursday evening, the American Lauren Hough was injured after falling and being kicked by her nine-year-old mare Blue Angel. She was examined and operated on last night in Stuttgart’s Katharinenhospital. Lauren Hough was diagnosed as having a broken rib and a separated shoulder. A lung has also collapsed. It is unclear as to how long she will have to remain in hospital.
Blue Angel was uninjured.
