Opening jumping class for the Bardusch Prize: wins for World Champion Philippe Le Jeune and Olympic Champion Lars Nieberg

Stuttgart – World Champion Philippe Le Jeune is obviously up for the 27th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. Riding Querlybet Hero STX, an 11-year-old stallion, whose father Vater Baloubet de Rouet was a three-time World Cup winner under Rodrigo Pessoa, the Belgian secured the Prize of the Bardusch GmbH Textil-Mietdienste. A clear round in 55.17 seconds gave him the victory in the opening jumping class for foreign riders. Le Jeune is one of the very welcome regulars at the equestrian highlight in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle and won the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER plus the Mercedes car for the winner in both 1993 and 1994. Behind him in second was Canadian-born Mario Deslauriers, who has been riding for USA since last year, on the nine-year-old gelding Whistler (0/56.05). The “new” American wrote World Cup history in 1984 when, aged 19, he became the youngest World Cup winner – he is still the record holder – and was the first Canadian to win the title. Natale Chiaudani was a close third behind Deslauriers after going clear in 56.23 seconds. The Italian in the saddle on Caillou, a nine-year-old Holstein gelding.

The two-time Olympic Team Champion Lars Nieberg won the following opening jumping competition for German riders, also for the Prize of the Bardusch GmbH Textil-Mietdienste. On the ten-year-old mare Quiletta du Domaine, he went around the course designed by Christa Jung clear in a time of 56.50 seconds and was therefore more than two seconds quicker than second-placed Andreas Krieg who saddled the Holstein gelding Cabalero (0/58.92). Third was Tobias Meyer on Aluta (0/59.91).
