Roger-Yves Bost and Philipp Weishaupt Win Opening Jumping Competition for the Prize of the Bardusch GmbH Textil-Mietdienste

(mps) The highly experienced Frenchman, Roger-Yves Bost, had an excellent start to his campaign at the 24th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. Riding his 10-year-old mare Kire Royal Star, he went clear in 54.36 seconds in the opening jumping event for foreign riders to win the Prize of the Bardusch GmbH Textil-Mietdienste and the 1,250 euro prize money that went with it.

Bost was also faultless when mastering the course on his gelding Jovis de Ravel. His time of 55.65 gave him third place. The opening successes will surely motivate the Frenchman for the remaining days of the show and perhaps he may even be able to repeat his “coup de main” in 1990 and 1991, when he triumphed in the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER. Sandwiched between Roger-Yves Bost’s placings was Emilio Bicocchi on his mare Olea. The Italian also cleared every fence and managed to go round the course in 55.17 seconds. His second place earned him 1,000 euro.

The following opening jumping event for German riders over the identical course provided a victory and 1,250 euro in prize money for Philipp Weishaupt on his nine-year-old gelding Cockney. He finished in 57.31 seconds which placed him ahead of Franke Sloothaak. Though he also left all the fences standing on his Hanoverian Al Faras Riamo, Sloothaak’s 62.60 ride was significantly slower. Nevertheless his efforts were rewarded with 1,000 euro. Back in third was Alois Rollmann-Schweckhorst, who went clear on Chacco-Blue in 64.53 seconds.
