Second win for Julien Epaillard: five one hundredths quicker than Marcus Ehning in the Prize of Peter Hahn

Stuttgart – Forty-five riders were listed to compete in the Prize of Peter Hahn, a speed jumping event, at the 26th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show on Thursday evening. The class also serves as the first qualifying for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER on Friday.

In spite of knocking a fence down, Julien Epaillard secured his second victory in Stuttgart after winning the Mercedes Jump and Drive – and the Mercedes-Benz A 180 DT that went with it – on Wednesday. Saddled on the ten-year-old gelding Mister Davier, the Frenchman raced around the arena on 54.82 seconds and it was by far the quickest ride. His total time of 58.82 was just enough for victory and the 6,600 euro prize money as team World Champion Marcus Ehning on Noltes Küchengirl (58.87) trailed him by only five one hundredth of a second. The ride earned the red-headed German 4,000 euro. Ludger Beerbaum (Germany) and the nine-year-old Hanoverian mare Gotha came third in a time of 59.18 seconds and were rewarded with 2,800 euro for their efforts.

The second qualification takes place on Friday at 6.00 pm when the jumpers will compete for the Prize of the DIW Instandhaltung Ltd. & Co. KG. Only the twelve best from the qualifying classes will be in the starting line-up for the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER in the evening.
