Tina Deuerer’s dream: the Golden Riding Badge

Stuttgart – “Ever since I first got involved with horses, I’ve always dreamt of one thing: the chance to compete in just one S class jumping competition!” And the dream of a single S event has turned into lots of starts in the top class. The icing on the cake came at the 26th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show when on Wednesday evening, Tina Deuerer (Germany) was awarded the Golden Riding Badge for ten S class wins from the Baden Württenberg state coach Karl-Heinz Streng.

Tina Deuerer has worked hard to get where she has so that alongside her husband and son Philipp, there is little time for anything else. The German feels at home in the equestrian world. Horses have fascinated her ever since she was a child and she started vaulting at the age of six. Her parents had had little to do with horses up to then but they nevertheless always gave her their support. In fact so much so that they gave her her very first horse of her own. Tina Deuerer rode in jumping competitions up to class M** before moving up to the S class three and a half years ago. Her husband, Hans-Jürgen Deuerer, who also loves equestrian sports and who once won a European Championships team bronze medal as a junior, is her coach today and her most important motivator. In the meanwhile she also seeks advice and help from the former World Champion Dirk Hafemeister and she is also sure to always receive support from her father-in-law, Helmut Deuerer. He turned down lucrative offers for the horses Centara, Cariva, Quinto and Quadriga. In 2010, Tina Deuerer won the women’s state championship and was fourth in the women’s German Championship. She is a trained type setter and lives today in Bretten, where her husband, who is the managing director, and his father manage the family business, “Tiernahrung Deuerer“, an animal foods company.
