Win as the last to go: Michael Jung’s ride in the WALTER solar Jump and Drive sends the crowd wild

Stuttgart – The last will be the first, so it is written in the New Testament. This was also confirmed in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle on Wednesday. Last to start in the popular Jump and Drive – presented by WALTER solar –, the eventing World and European Champion Michael Jung from nearby Horb reeled everybody in. Currently the world’s most complete rider, he went round first the jumping course – on Vincent TSF a nine-year-old Trakehner gelding – and then the “car slalom” in a total time of 97.83 seconds to beat the time set by Tobias Meyer (Germany) on Pour Le Poussage (98.55). Third last year, it was his first win in the competition. Local hero Jung was cheered on by a sell-out crowd of 8,000 in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle and they proceeded to celebrate his win just as loudly. Third in 101.62 seconds was Katrin Eckermann (Germany) on Emilio. She had only just missed out on winning the Rider of the Year title in Munich at the start of November.
