Narrow win in Dressage World Cup for Fabienne Lütkemeier and D’Agostino

Stuttgart – Ecstasy and a few tears of joy for Fabienne Lütkemeier. In scoring over 80.600 per cent points, the Team World Champion secured the win in the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage presented by Nürnberger Versicherungsgruppe. Riding her 14-year old Hanoverian gelding D‘Agostino, she had the sell-out 8,000 crowd on the edge of their seats in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle on Saturday evening. The 25-year old student will take away a purse of 11,000 euro from the 30th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. “D‘Agostino really was super. I was over the moon. It’s always wonderful coming to Stuttgart and experiencing the impressive atmosphere here.”

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (Germany) was just as overjoyed after being given 80.375 per cent points by the jury for her ride on Unee BB. It earned her 8,000 euro in prize money. “My horse was very good at the aids and, in contrast to yesterday, I was fully concentrated.” And she admitted: “I was obviously annoyed at the outlier mark.”

Isabell Werth (Germany) and Don Johnson FRH received 79.500 per cent points leaving her in third place and 6,000 euro richer. The multiple Olympic, World and European Champion had earlier in the day won the Grand Prix Special. “I’m not so happy with the way things went. Jonny was very difficult today and already bucked in the warm-up area. Therefore I got off cheaply today.”

Judge Katrina Wüst was pleased with the high quality of the rides. “The horses’ qualities came through very well and there was no inflation in the per cent points.” Hans-Peter Schmidt was also happy as “all the ladies rode on Nürnberger Burg-Pokal horses.”
