Topping the podium this time around was the reigning BW-Bank Indoor Jumping Champion Marian Müller (Germany). He completed the course on his grey stallion Silver Credit without incurring any faults, kept a calm hand when shooting and manoeuvred the all-wheel drive vehicle past the cones in record time. Had Mario Walter not narrowly missed one of the targets, he would have bettered Müller by one hundredth of a second. The jumping rider and tournament sponsor had to be satisfied with second place.
The show continued with a wide diversity of elements including the vaulting Brüsewitz brothers. Atop their gelding Goldjunge, the reigning German champions enthralled the crowd with an acrobatic display set to the “Greatest Showman” musical.
The “Deutsche Sportpferde” breeding association presented a variety of young up-and-coming horses. A highlight was the prize giving ceremony for 2022’s Master Stallion. The award went to Camargo (Canturo/For Pleasure) from Ralf and Franziska Jünger’s stud.
Lovers of the “silver herd” of Arabians from the renowned local Marbach stud also had their money’s worth. The “living World Cultural Heritage” was a delight to watch when galloping around the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle.
The diversity in horsemanship was then shown by Malika Mayr with her freedom dressage. Her two horses shadowed her the whole time and exuded harmony and elegance when displaying the unity between humans and animals.
The “heavy” finale of the highly atmospheric show evening was provided by the Bavarian Oberland Riding Group and their 16 heavy horses. It also included a world premiere – an Hungarian post with eight heavy horses in hand. Bare footed and wearing leather breeches, they showed an Hungarian post quadrille on their horses. It was accompanied by typical Bavarian folk dancing to the delight of the crowd.
