Surprise win for Bianca Nowag in “Piaff-Förderpreis” final

Stuttgart – Surprise win in the final of the “Piaff-Förderpreis” for the Prize of the “Liselott Schindling Stiftung zur Förderung des Dressursports”: the 25-year old Bianca Nowag (Germany) and Sir Hohenstein, a Hanoverian gelding sired by Donnerhall, triumphed early Friday morning at the 35th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show after an impressive performance that earned them 72.100 per cent. The pair had previously finished third in the warm-up class on Thursday. “It’s a fantastic end to my time in the U-25s,” said the delighted winner who continued, “Many thanks to the Liselott Schindling foundation which gives us the opportunity to compete at such a big horse show.”

Evi Eisenhardt from the Liselott Schindling Stiftung, herself an international dressage judge, confirmed Nowag’s assessment saying, “It was a faultless ride with a very impressive horse.” The Piaff-Förderpreis is now 20-years old “and completely fulfils its goal”.

Second in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle was the defending champion Jil-Marielle Becks (Germany) in the saddle on Damon’s Delorange, a 12-year old Westphalian mare sired by Damon Hill (71.200). The pair were convincing winners the day before. Hannah Erbe (Germany) followed in third together with the gelding Carlos after being given 70.980 per cent.
