Stuttgart – After two years “in exile” in the Porsche Arena, the vaulters were back centre stage in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle at the 25th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. The pairs competition for the Prize of the Masterhorse GmbH was a two round affair and the final score was arrived at by adding both marks together and then dividing by two.
In the lead after the first round on Saturday were the Austrians Kathi Nell and Lucia Bernhard with 7.680 points. Along with the nine-year-old gelding Valeccito and their longeur, Edith Kermer-Berger, they again posted the day’s highest marks (8.380) on Sunday morning. Their final score of 8.030 points earned them a 300 euro purse.
After scoring 8.266 points in the final, Anna and Florian Kraft (Germany) moved up a place to second after lying in third at the halfway atage on Saturday (7.266). Their 11-year-old Holstein gelding was guided by Jennifer Grube. Saturday’s second placed (7.473) Ines Klophaus and Jennifer Leitlof (Germany) – on the Monika Klophaus guided 11-year-old grey stallion Legolas – dropped down to third overall after scoring 7.973 points for a total of 7.723. Theresa-Sophie Bresch and Daniel Rein (Germany) on the 18-year-old gelding Gazal – the longeur was Doris Marquart – came fourth (5.073/7.986 = 6.530). Just behind them in fifth were Katharina Knaup and Stephanie Trampert-Korte (Germany). The duo and their 17-year-old gelding Paganini, who was guided by Sabine Wagner, finished with a score of 6.483 points (6.793/6.173).
