(mps) Third start, third victory – “dressage queen” Isabell Werth is about to actually outclass the top-class international competitors at the 23rd international STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS show. In the Preis der Firma Humbaur – Competence in Trailers –, the Grand Prix freestyle on Saturday afternoon, the 38-year old rider from Rheinberg left her contenders far behind.
With Warum nicht FRH, the 11-year old Hanoverian gelding called Hannes, the quadruple Olympic winner showed a performance, which was honored with 79.3 percent by the international judges - the highest score of the day. Behind this pair, which is on the third position in the world ranking list (with Satchmo, Werth is also the first of the FEI ranking) and was remunerated with a Humbaur trailer, the Russian Alexandra Korelova and Balagur (75.95 percent) came on the second place before Emma Hindle (Great Britain), who received 73,8 percent with Lancet.
Directly after the prize-giving ceremony, Werth was very happy about her victory, however not 100% satisfied with the test: “Hannes has been quite fast today. Thank god, we managed to finish the test fairly well”, said the lawyer. “The atmosphere in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle has been quite hot as usual, which he assimilated correspondingly. That is the reason why some minor things did not work out perfectly. But I am very happy that he managed to survive so well in this boiling pot”. 8.600 spectators had turned the Stuttgart arena into this boiling pot and, thus, provided an “overwhelming” afternoon, according to Gotthilf Riexinger, the show director, who was “absolutely happy about the fantastic performances of our riders”. Ulrich Humbaur, the managing director of the Firma Humbaur – Competence in Trailers, was also enthusiastic about the emotional atmosphere: “We are definitely going to continue our sponsorship for the show. It has been really impressive what was performed here today”.
