(acm/mps) A big step on the way to participating in the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER was made by the Brazilian Bernardo Alves on Thursday evening in the Prize of the Ingenieurbüro Hauser.
Not only did he race around the course in 62.71 seconds on his nine-year-old gelding Topic van’t Voorhof on Thursday evening in the first of two qualifying classes for the second main jumping competition at the 22nd International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show but the world ranked No 13 also went clear. He duly picked up the win and a generous 5,000 euro first prize. Second spot and with it a good chance of also taking part in the MASTER went to World Championships bronze medal winner Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (Germany). Riding Checkmate, she also completed the speed jumping course without knocking a single fence down but “only” in a time of 63.62 seconds. Behind the 36-year-old in third came the Swiss Beat Mändli, who needed 64.48 seconds on Principal.
