Stuttgart – The daughter of rock superstar Bruce Springsteen is making her very first appearance at the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS this year – for Jessica Springsteen it also marks her premiere in Germany. “The arena is huge. Back home in USA, the arenas are often only half as big,” said the 20-year-old when praising the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. Her coach and fellow rider Laura Kraut added: “The spectators here are so enthusiastic, simply great.”
A psychology student, Springsteen has brought along her nine-year-old mare Wish, the 11-year-old Cincinatti la Silla and her well-trusted 14-year-old Vornado van den Hoendrik. Her new arrival Vindicat, which she bought after the London Olympic Games from Team Olympic gold medal winner Peter Charles (Great Britain), has however remained at the home stables in New Jersey.
Also in the hunt for World Cup points is the Spaniard Sergio Alvarez Moya, who was extremely grateful for the personal invitation he received from the Technical Director of the Stuttgart horse show Hauke Schmidt. The Spanish equestrian association has entered Pilar Lucrecia Cordon for the World Cup class in Stuttgart. “My horses are in good form,” said Alvarez Moya who leads the Western European League after four stops. “The wild card has given me the chance to compete for important points in Stuttgart.”
