Stuttgart – The opening jumping class for international riders at the 28th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle has been won by Jur Vrieling. A faultless round in 54.43 seconds – the quickest of the 49-strong field – handed the 43-year-old Dutchman first place in the Prize of Bardusch GmbH Textil Mietdienste on Thursday. Riding his mare Sissi van’t Schuttershof, the team silver medal winner in London finished ahead of Irishman Shane Breen and the Swiss Pius Schwizer. Breen also went clear on his mare Ominerale Courcelle (0/55.57) as did Schwizer on Graciella (0/56.97).
Once the international riders had made way for the domestic riders, the opening competition – also for the Prize of the Bardusch GmbH Textil Mietdienste – for Germans was won by Mario Stevens. He saddled his mare to a clear round in 57.94 seconds to outdo his rivals by more than three seconds. Second place went to René Tebbel on his 11-year-old Westphalia gelding Pacolino (0/61.22). He finished just ahead of Max Kühner on Cornetta (0/61.46). Three hundredth of a second behind in fourth was the local rider David Will in the saddle on the Baden Württemberg stallion Colorit (0/61.49).
