(mps) Felix Hassmann (Germany) secured the win in the MercedesCard Jump and Drive in front of 8,200 highly enthusiastic spectators at the 24th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. The 22-year-old went clear over the first half of the course on his mare Creativa and could even afford to incur two penalty points driving around the second half in a Mercedes-Benz A 180. In spite of the time faults, his time of 102.15 seconds sufficed to give him first place. His well-earned reward: Felix Hassmann can now drive back home in a Mercedes-Benz A 180 CDI worth 28,480 euro.
After going round in a time of 104.45 seconds on his mare Idoline de St. Clair, the Italian Emilio Bicocchi took second place in the very popular competition full of excitement, action and drama. Behind him in third was Johannes Ehning (Germany), who rode around the first part of the course without making a mistake on his mare Nina 328 and then finished in 105.93 after racing around the second section in the Mercedes-Benz.
Earlier on in the afternoon, a 5,400 audience in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle followed the iWest Intermediaire I dressage competition for riders from the federal state of Baden Württemberg. They were able to celebrate the overjoyed winner Renate Rapp. Riding her mare Stute Gachina she placed ahead of Julia Ellsässer on Rossini Grande and Miriam Alber on Senator.
