(mps) As the first of a total of 22 competitors, Michael Jung from Altheim met the challenge of the enormous jumps in the class “Preis der Ensinger Mineral-Heilquellen”, the indoor eventing class at the international STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS show. And with a clear round in 79.99 seconds, the 25-year old and Miss Meller, his 11-year old Trakehner mare, had presented a time in front of 8.000 enthusiastic spectators in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, which was an irresolvable task for his competitors. Thus, after having won in 2005, Jung was the first rider who has won the indoor eventing class at the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS twice and could be happy about this triumph as well as the prize-money of 2.000 Euro.
Karim Florent Laghouag and Histoire de Triballe, the 12-year old gelding, who also mastered the awe-inspiring course in a clear round in 81.48 seconds, came closest to Jung’s set mark. With this performance, he became second and won a prize-money of 1.500 Euro. Jürgen Allgöwer from Inzlingen, who reached the finish with FBW Chico after 81.97 seconds, ended up on the third place. In 79.89 seconds, Frank Ostholt (Warendorf), the team world champion, was even faster than Michael Jung. Riding the gelding “After the battle”, the director of the DOKR Bundesleistungszentrums Reiten had to put up with 10 penalty seconds after some knock downs in the course and had to content himself with the fourth place.
