Stuttgart – All the pairs in Sunday morning’s vaulting competition for the Prize of the Firma MASTERHORSE showed nerves in front of a large crowd in the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle. In spite of some little difficulties every pair performed convincingly. The final result was however a surprise: the current European Champions Theresa-Sophie Bresch and Torben Jacobs (Germany) were unable to live up to their role as favourites in the second round. They began a little wobbly in the freestyle and lost important points when they were forced to dismount. It paved the way for the German team of Anna and Florian Kraft (Essen), who were well behind after the first round, to overtake them and win the class. After the two rounds, which were added together and then divided by two to arrive at the final result, the brother and sister team on their horse Rocky won with 7.936 points. The longeur was Anne Sümnik. Bresch/Jacobs on Cyrano, with Doris Marquart as the longeur, were back in second with 7.849 points.
One behind in third was another German pair, Lisa Blankenhorn and Jule Roth who received 7.802 points for the performance on Regent who was lead by Andrea Blatz. The Italian pair of Erica Di Forti and Lorenzo Lupaccini, who were also on Regent, scored 7.257 points to finish fourth.
