(mps) Isabell Werth made the perfect start to her campaign at the 24th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. Riding her 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding Warum Nicht FRH, (or “Why Not FRH in English), the five-time Olympic, six-time world and 13-time European champion won the Grand Prix for the Prize of the “Ingenieurbüro Hauser” on Friday morning.
In doing so Werth, who was given 2,500 euro prize money for her victory, impressively confirmed her status as favourite under the roof of the Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle. The pair’s performance was awarded 77.542 per cent by the international judges. Behind the German in second was her compatriot Monica Theodorescu riding the 10-year-old Whisper. They were given 73.208 per cent. Third place (71.750) was secured by Ellen Schulten-Baumer (Germany), who saddled her mare Donatha S.
