Stuttgart – Having previously won in 2009 and 2010, the Australian Boyd Exell secured his third DB SCHENKER GERMAN MASTER title on Saturday afternoon. The world champion won the class that counts toward the FEI World CupTM Driving in front of a capacity 8,000 crowd in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle after recording a combined total of 216.71 seconds for today’s two rounds. His reward: 5,500 euro prize money. Boyd Exell’s third victory now makes him the most successful four-in-hand driver in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle after serial winner Michael Freund (Germany) amassed 13 titles from 1994 to 2006. “It’s always a privilege to drive in Stuttgart, the public is so enthusiastic. The course team does a great job – thanks very much to them all.” The victor then praised the German course builder Falk Böhnisch: “It was probably the best indoor course we’ve ever driven and one that’d be worthy of a World Cup final.”

The five-time World Champion Ijsbrand Chardon from the Netherlands, the 2007 winner in Stuttgart and this year runner-up after clocking a total of 226.57 seconds, agreed: “Many, many, many thanks – fantastic! It’s such a pity Falk is retiring as the course builder.” The other placings were filled by Hungarian Jozsef Dobrovitz (228.17), the 2011 German Champion Georg von Stein, Christoph Sandmann (Germany), 2006 team World Champion, and two-time team World Champion Theo Timmerman (Netherlands).
