Fourth competition in Stuttgart – fourth win Isabell Werth a 17-time GERMAN DRESSAGE MASTER

Stuttgart – The GERMAN DRESSAGE MASTER in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle goes by the name of Isabell Werth – for the 17th time. Germany’s multiple Olympic, world and European champion rode her 11-year-old Hanoverian black mare Superb to a score of 74.213 percent and a comfortable win in the Prize of Stihl on Sunday morning at the 37th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. She thus secured the fourth victory in four competitions in Stuttgart and prize money totalling 9,500 euro.

“I’m super happy with Superb,” said the delighted winner. “It was her first indoor show and only her third Grand Prix Special. I’m mega proud at just how confident she is – she’s got so much going for her,” commented Werth with a wry smile on her face: “I still have a lot of fun, and a few plans.”

Second with 72.596 percent was her compatriot Sönke Rothenberger, team Olympic champion in 2016, team world (2018) and European champion (2017, 2019), on the 11-year-old black gelding Matchball OLD – it earned him 6,800 euro. In third place was Katharina Hemmer (Germany) and Denoix PCH, an 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding (71.915). The 29-year-old, who is training to become an equestrian manager at Hubertus Schmidt’s stables, the 2004 team Olympic champion in Athens, has pocketed 5,000 in prize money.

Horse show director Carsten Rotermund was also proud of the “incredible crowd” and thanked “the brilliant riders and the super fans”.
