Hans-Dieter Dreher and Vestmalle des Cotis win the first STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER qualifier

Stuttgart – A highly experienced rider from the region was victorious on Thursday evening at the 37th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show. Competing in the first qualifier for Friday’s STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER, the second most important jumping class in the state capital of Baden Württemberg, Hans-Dieter Dreher came out on top in the saddle on Vestmalle des Cotis, a French bred 14-year-old gelding.

Their time of 58.86 handed them the win in the Prize of XXL-Sicherheit. One place down in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle was the Briton Harry Charles who was only marginally slower when clocking 59.03. Third was Germany’s Philipp Schulze Topphoff, a winner last Saturday in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck, on the ten-year-old Westphalian mare Carla NRW (59.07).

Only the 12 top riders in the class and the second qualifier on Friday (5.30 pm) for the Prize of iWEST will then be in the mix tomorrow evening (10.15 pm) for the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER, a 100,000 euro class with a jump-off. It was won in 2022 by the European Championship runner-up on Philipp Weishaupt (Germany) on Krokant.
