Isabell Werth: GERMAN DRESSAGE MASTER for 14th time

Stuttgart – “It can only happen once and it won’t happen again – it’s too nice to be true” sang Lilian Harvey (1931, “The Congress Dances”). Winning the GERMAN DRESSAGE MASTER title and the Grand Prix Special for the 14th time in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle really is a one-off. The feat has been set by the multiple Olympic, world and European champion Isabell Werth (Germany).

Riding Don Johnson FRH on the final day of the 33rd International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show, she dominated her rivals in the Prize of tisoware when scoring 77.941 percent points which secured her prize money totalling 8,400 euro. “I have to be wider awake than Jonny so that he doesn’t get up to anything silly. But he was very concentrated today. I’m very happy, it was a class without any rough edges,” said the world’s most successful dressage rider before adding, “I’m glad we can ride both tours here in Stuttgart. It’s something special these days. The classical tour has a high degree of acceptance and arouses many emotions.”

Second-placed Fabienne Lütkemeier (Germany) was delighted with her performance (74.843): “D’Agostino FRH loves the arena here and is specially motivated so that I was able to really enjoy the ride. Compatriot Hubertus Schmidt was pleased with his third-place finish: “I succeeded in highlighting Imperios’s strengths today.”

“Stuttgart is always worth a visit,” said Sabine Dörr from the sponsor tisoware and is happy that, “I have been able to hand the prize over for a second time.”
