Lieselot Kooremans: a FEI Pony Trophy win to celebrate today – tomorrow her 14th birthday

Stuttgart – One day before her 14th birthday, the Dutch girl Lieselot Kooremans won the FEI Jumping Ponies Trophy for the Prize of Ensinger Mineral-Heilquellen at the 39th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show on Saturday afternoon. In front of sold-out 8,000 crowd in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, she first went clear on the 21-year-old gelding Elando van de Roshoeve and then stopped the clock in the 11-rider jump-off in 33.78 seconds, and again left all the fences standing.

“Stuttgart is my favourite arena and one with a fantastic crowd,” raved the winner. “Last year, I won on my 13th birthday and this year one day before my birthday – it’s an early present.”

One place behind in second was Ireland’s Charlie Flynn in the saddle on the 11-year-old mare HK Zena (0/34.61) ahead of Darcy Honeybunn Daisy Breen (Great Britain) with the ten-year-old mare One Saharah (0/34.88). Malte Merschformann (Germany), son of the team European champion in Mannheim in 1997 Markus Merschformann, was fifth on the eight-year-old Selle-Français stallion Hiroshima de Feyele (0/36.31).
