Moritz Treffinger crowns his exceptionally successful season by winning the iWEST Dressage Cup final

Stuttgart – The 20th anniversary final of the iWEST Dressage Cup in Stuttgart’s Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle was won by the 19-year-old Moritz Treffinger from the local RV Oberderdingen stables. Riding the nine-year-old gelding Treffinger’s Superstition OLD, he finished with a total score of 75.425 per cent. One place back in second was Yara Reichert (73.900 per cent) in the saddle on the eight-year-old stallion Springbank II VH. She not only topped the qualifying series but also won Wednesday’s warm-up class. Third was the two-time iWEST winner Ann-Kathrin Lindner on Dr. Mops (71.425 per cent).

Today’s class marked the end of an exceptionally successful season for Moritz Treffinger. After numerous victories in higher category classes, the local rider received the German Golden Riding Award at a dressage festival in nearby Ludwigsburg. “A childhood dream came true today. My horse gave me a really special season,” said the up-and-coming dressage rider. In the name of all the riders, he then went on to thank the title sponsors iWEST for its 20 years of support.

Matthias Meyer, the iWEST CEO, congratulated the winner and stressed: “It was a fantastic final and it was a real pleasure watching the great performances. We’d like to continue the iWEST Dressage Cup in the same way next year.” The series manager Holger Schulze said: “It has been a stroke of luck having the Meyer family and iWEST as a loyal partner. It enabled us to secure the future of the Dressage Cup 20 years ago.”
