Prize of Outletcity Metzingen winner: Philipp Schulze Topphoff secures second GERMAN MASTER quali

Stuttgart – Home soil success in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle: the 27-year-old Philipp Schulze Topphoff secured the win in the Prize of Outletcity Metzingen at the 39th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show on Friday. In the saddle on Carla NRW, 12-year-old Westphalian mare, he went clear when posting the fastest time – 68.47 seconds – of all the 44 riders. In second and third were the two Frenchmen Julien Epaillard (0/68.71) and Roger Yves Bost (0/69.05) atop Fringan de Vesquerie and Ballerine du Vilpion respectively.


The class was the second qualifier for the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER in which only the 12 best horsemen and women in yesterday’s first quali (Prize of XXL-Sicherheit) and today’s contest are given the right to take part three hours later in the Stuttgart horse show’s second most jumping competition. The parcourse “built” by course designer Christa Jung from nearby Bad Rappenau was 515 metres long and contained 13 obstacles with 16 jumps.

In addition to the already mentioned riders, Rik Hemeryck (BEL), Peder Fredricson (SWE), Bas Moerings (NED), Sophie Hinners (GER), Martin Fuchs (SUI), Daniel Deusser (GER), Richard Vogel (GER), Max Kühner (AUT) and Kevin Staut (FRA) will all be in action starting at 22.00 hrs.
