European champion Helen Erbe wins the “Piaff Förder-Preis"

Stuttgart – The 21-year-old German Helen Erbe today won the final of the “Preis der Liselott Schindling Stiftung” at the 36th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. Riding her 15-year-old Rhineland gelding Carlos FRH in the class whose purpose is to promote the sport of dressage in Germany, she scored 74.180 per cent to relegate Selina Söder and the 18-year-old KWPN mare Zaire-E into second.

Coached by the Olympic and world champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, the daughter of the Minister President of the Federal State of Bavaria Markus Söder, was awarded 71.460 per cent by the five judges. Behind her in third was a fellow member of the German U25 team that won this year’s European Championship. Riding the 11-year-old Hanoverian mare Four Seasons FRH, Alexa Westendarp also broke the 70 per cent barrier (70.300).

Winner Helen Erbe was highly pleased with her performance saying: “It was a lot of fun riding such a class at the end of the season. I went all out today to win points in the segments that go well.”

“We saw a fantastic class today with an outstanding winner,” said the Liselott Schindling Stiftung’s Evi Eisenhardt when praising Helen Erbe. And Germany’s head coach Monica Theodorescu was also highly pleased: “We’ve had an extremely successful U25 season and we’re so grateful for having the Piaff Förderpreis. It’s so nice seeing the excellence we saw today.”
