The 28-year old, who originally competed as an eventer, saddled the mare DSP Alice to leave all the fences standing in a time of 57.07 seconds. Over two seconds down was second-placed Christian Ahlmann (Germany) and his stallion Colorit who stopped the clock at 59.27 seconds. Twelve hundredths slower in third was the Italian Alberto Zorzi on Danique (59.39).
