Thrilling classes and a super atmosphere 53,600 spectators enjoy world class equestrianism

Stuttgart – The 38th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse has once again produced “World class equestrianism with thrilling classes and a magnificent atmosphere in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle,” stressed Andreas Kroll, the CEO of the in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft. A big highlight was the special ceremony when Isabell Werth and Michael Jung were named Honorary Ambassadors of the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS.

At the closing Press Conference before today’s highlight, the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Jumping for the Grand Prix of Stuttgart with BW-BANK and WALTER solar, both the organisers and the main sponsors were visibly extremely pleased with the way everything had gone. Andreas Kroll: “The horse show is simply a lot of fun for us organisers. The reward for all our efforts is reflected in the magnificent atmosphere. We were sold-out on Friday evening and Saturday. A total of 53,600 equestrian fans flocked to the Schleyer-Halle. Fascinating in his view is how young the spectators throughout the horse show have become. “They are our present and future and it makes me optimistic. Our show has been outstanding and has gone one better than 2023. I would like to say a big ‘thank-you’ to all the stakeholders, especially the riders who have provided the sporting highlights, our sponsors, competition partners, the FEI and the many helping hands in front of and behind the scenes.”

“Michi” Jung’s wait to win his tenth eventing Indoor Derby for the Prize of Walter solar continues. Like in 2019, the four-time Olympic Champion was again thwarted by two Irish riders – Jennifer Kuehnle and Cathal Daniels. After numerous attempts that came to nothing, Hans-Dieter Dreher finally fulfilled his dream of winning the BW-Bank Indoor Championship for riders from the state of Baden Württemberg. A blink of an eyelid decided the German Master on Friday evening as a hundredth of a second handed the Swiss Steve Guerdat his maiden win in the class. As for the four-in-hand drivers, Boyd Excel is the standard by which all things are measured, and he was unbeatable. After a narrow win, he deservedly celebrated his tenth World Cup win in Stuttgart. In the dressage World Cup, Isabell Werth was in a class of her own when winning comfortably. Today on Sunday, Katharina Hemmer triumphed in the DRESSAGE GERMAN MASTER, as she did on Friday morning in the Grand Prix warm-up.

The Director of Group Marketing at the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, Birgit Kiesel was also thrilled by the 38thedition of the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS: “Many people have delivered here – the athletes and the organisers. The atmosphere was fabulous with knowledgeable spectators, and it makes Stuttgart stand out. We’re very happy, we had thrilled customers and have seen the century’s best indoor championship.”

It is a sentiment that Wolfgang Walter, the CEO of WALTER konzept GmbH, totally agrees with. “Last year, I wondered whether the horse show could be topped, but it has been the case again this year. For the coming horse show, he would like to see the Wednesday evening slightly condensed so that the Indoor Derby ends earlier. “It would certainly be in the interest of all the spectators. Our Energy Forum on Friday was went down well and Mario rode pretty respectably at the horse show.”

There is certain to be no lack of work in the future for the horse show directors – Kai Huttrop-Hage, Andreas Krieg and Carsten Rotermund. “We, especially in the dressage, want to do even more to entice top riders, so that we can offer more world class action here,” stressed Carsten Rotermund.

The 39th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show will take place next year from 12 to 16 November 2025.
