Birthday victory – Dutch teenager Kooremans wins FEI Jumping Ponies Trophy for the Prize of Ensinger

Stuttgart – Competing in such a setting is something pony riders do not get to experience so often. On Saturday, the youngsters were given the chance to display their talents at the 38th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER Horse Show when contesting the FEI Jumping Ponies Trophy for the Prize of Ensinger Mineral-Heilquellen. Watching on were 8,000 thrilled spectators in the sold-out Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle.

Nine clears in the first round advanced to the jump-off where the Dutch teenager Lieselot Kooremans triumphed to give herself a fantastic birthday present. In the saddle on Elando van de Roshoeve, a 20-year-old gelding, the 13-year-old again went clear when posting a time of 35.91 seconds.

Second was Annie Boland (Ireland) and her 14-year-old gelding K-Little Hero who was also faultless, but took 38.54 seconds. In third was Katie Bradburne (Great Britain) with the eight-year-old mare Westpoint Foreign Affair (0/39.09). The best-placed German starter in fourth was Hannah Blandfort and the 15-year-old stallion Karim van Orchid S (0/39.43).

“I really wanted to win and give myself a birthday present,” said the visibly surprised winner of the class, “It feels great to have won here.”
