Comfortable win for Armin Schäfer

Stuttgart – In the concluding class of the first afternoon at the 38th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS, the experienced Armin Schäfer won BW-Bank Indoor Championship warm-up for the Prize of Schmidt Sporthandschuhe (0/62.33). Riding the Dutch-bred stallion Drops van Overis Z in the class for riders from the state of Baden Württemberg, he easily beat the Nations Cup rider Hans-Dieter Dreher and his Selle-Française mare Forpleasure du Moulin by over two seconds (0/64.68). In third place in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle was Thomas Grimm in the saddle on the ten-year-old gelding Upsasa (0/65.69).

In the final event – a class M* style jumping – for the NÜRNBERGER Burg Cup for Baden-Württemberg’s juniors, Fabian Herre was unbeatable after scraping into the field as the 14th and penultimate qualifier. Atop the 12-year-old gelding Marnix van de Leeuwerk, he stopped the clock in 40.02 seconds after again going clear in the 5-rider jump-off. Second was Henry Hoffmann on his gelding Flying Rocky (0/41.73). Just behind him in third was Charlotte Wahby in the saddle on Quidditch (0/43.81).

At the start of the afternoon, the Dressage Intermédiaire I for the Prize of iWEST was a little surprisingly won by Carina Harnisch on the only eight-year-old FBW Francis with 1,344.5 per cent. Behind her in second was the Bavarian favourite Kristina Olson, the leader after five qualifiers, on the Baden-Württemberger FBW Dory’s Dream (1,328.5).
