Steve Guerdat wins Prize of Outletcity Metzingen and thus the second STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER qualifier

Stuttgart – Electric atmosphere in the full Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle: 42 riders once again gave their all in the Prize of Outletcity Metzingen, the second qualifier for the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER that is scheduled for later in the evening. They simply wanted to be one of Top 12 from yesterday’s first quali and today’s class that earned the right to be in the mix three hours later in the second most important jumping competition at the 38th international horse show in Stuttgart.


AIn the end, the Swiss Steve Guerdat went clear in 61.28 seconds to take first place ahead of the Italian Giulia Martinengo Marquet (0/61.39) and his countryman Martin Fuchs (0/62.00). Guerdat, the 2012 Olympic champion in London, was in the saddle on Albfuehren’s Iashin Sitte, a ten-year-old gelding and duly qualified for the highlight later on. He will be joined by Giulia Martinengo Marquet on her 11-year-old Selle-Français gelding Delta Del‘isle (both have a total of 80 points from the two classes). Martin Fuchs and the 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding Commissar Pezi also managed to secure a starting berth for the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER after coming eighth in the overall classification. Also in action at 22.00 hrs are Jörne Sprehe (GER), Harrie Smolders (NED), Peder Fredricson (SWE), Michael Viehweg (GER), Henrik von Eckermann (SWE), Teike Friedrichsen (GER), Roger Yves Bost (FRA), Max Kühner (AUT) and Yuri Mansur (BRA).
