Stuttgart – She was named an “Honorary Ambassador of the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS” on Thursday. On Friday, the much-lauded rider won the qualifier for Saturday’s World Cup freestyle (17.00 hrs) – the world’s most successful rider, Isabell Werth (Germany). In the saddle on her ten-year-old mare Wendy de Fontaine – the two won team gold and individual silver at the Olympic Games in Paris in summer – she totally dominated the Grand Prix for the Prize of Abelein Event Service. Her display was “rewarded” with 79.217 per cent points by the international judges.
Belgium’s Larissa Pauluis placed second on her 14-year-old Dutch-bred gelding Flambeau after scoring 73.718 points. Third was the German Bianca Nowag-Aulenbrock and her 12-year-old Oldenburg mare Florine OLD (73.282).
“It was a beautiful round full of fluency,” said the most successful German Olympian after her ride. “Wendy was still a bit overexcited and unfortunately became a little anxious when reigning back. Otherwise, I’m super happy with her.” Last year, Isabell Werth chalked up four wins in four starts in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle.
