In the BW-Bank Indoor Championships, Marian Müller left Baden-Württemberg’s show jumpers trailing in his wake and delighted everybody back home at the Hofgut Albführen stables. Bianca Nowag also took her chance in the final of dressage’s Piaff-Förderpreis when an impressive performance handed her the win. On Saturday morning, Lisa Müller then celebrated a well-deserved victory in the dressage Grand Prix – watched by her husband, the football World Cup winner, Thomas Müller. “Such unexpected wins are what make sport so special and so exciting for the spectators,” said Kroll. Other riders to excel were for instance the serial winner Isabell Werth or the Swiss European champion Martin Fuchs, who won his first ever car at a horse show this week in Stuttgart.
At the Closing Press Conference ahead of today’s – Sunday, 17 November – highlight, the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping for the Grand Prix of Stuttgart with MERCEDES-BENZ, WALTER solar and the BW-BANK, the organisers and main sponsors were visibly highly satisfied. Andreas Kroll: We’ve had a fantastic horse show and are happy and satisfied with the way things have gone. We’ve achieved our target of about 55,000 spectators. I’d like to say a big thank-you to the whole team and all the volunteers in front of and behind the scenes. They’ve done an excellent job.”
Also important in his mind was that the changes to the schedule have gone down well with the public. Saturday evening is far more popular and there is greater interest in Sunday’s programme with the jumping and dressage Grand Prix. “It’s a positive trend.”
Also thrilled by the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS was Birgit Kiesel, Director of Group Marketing at the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg: “The STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS is a super horse show. Big compliments to the organisers who produce such high quality every year and keep coming up with new ideas. Our social media activities and the donations campaign have created new focusses and many satisfied customers.”
Jürgen Walker, the Sales Director and Member of the Board of the Mercedes dealership in Stuttgart, also praised the long-term partnership, the professional organisation and the associated fantastic feedback from the guests. “It’s highly important for us. We’ve also been treated to excellent equestrian sport and seen a deserved and likeable MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER in Martin Fuchs.”
The Managing Director of WALTER konzept, Wolfgang Walter, also spoke of a “fabulous event with excellent line-ups and high standards.” He also felt the Energy Form in which 80 guests participated was a big success. “Clean sport and clean energy, they are very important aspects for us,” said Walter.
For the three horse show directors, the 35th STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS was also a major success. Carsten Rotermund: “We’ve seen top class fields in the dressage with fantastic results, and some surprises. It’s good for our sport.” And Andreas Krieg felt that “We couldn’t have written the script any better on horse show’s five days. Everything went smoothly in every sector.” A big thanks goes out to the public: “The atmosphere in the arena is simply brilliant and is a spur to both horses and riders to produce top performances.”
