Felicitas Hendricks wins the “Piaff-Förder-Preis” final – “Goldene Reitabzeichen” for Anna Schölermann

Stuttgart – As expected, the reigning U-25 European champion Felicitas Hendricks secured the win in the final of the “Piaff-Förderpreis” – a prize to promote dressage in Germany – at the 37th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show on Friday. After their success in the warm-up class on Thursday, the 23-year-old and her stallion Drombusch OLD scored 1808.5 points to finish well ahead of second-placed Luca Sophia Collin on Ferrero D, a 13-year-old KWPN gelding.

Third in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle was Anna Schölermann who was in the saddle on the ten-year-old Hanoverian gelding Bon Scolari (1722.5). At the victory ceremony, she also received the “Goldene Reitabzeichen” – Golden Riding Badge – from her trainer Hubertus Schmid for ten S victories.

The Piaff-Förderpreis is limited to dressage riders under the age of 25 who already compete at the highest level, the Grand Prix. Up-and-coming horsemen and women have the chance via the series to adapt to top class dressage sport for which Felicitas Hendricks was full of praise: “I am so happy with the whole season, and it was really enjoyable. The class in this wonderful setting was the icing on the cake.”

The series has resulted in a scene made up of young Grand Prix riders that are taking the chance to slowly come to terms with the highest demands in dressage without actually having to compete straight away against established professionals and the crème de la crème. Germany’s national trainer was visibly pleased with the performances in the Piaff Förderpreis organised by the Liselott-Schindling-Stiftung and praised the “light-footed and elegant ride” of the winning pair that “once again performed very assuredly”.
