Equestrian triathlon, Lisa Röckener, Marbach stud horses, dog agility and “Wolkenstein-Ritt” in costumes

Stuttgart – Spectators and equestrian fans on the first day of the International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show are traditionally presented with an attractive show evening. It will also be the case on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 at 19.00 hrs (all times are local) when the organisers from the in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft will stage the exciting equestrian triathlon, Lisa Röckener’s “Eventing skills – a bit different” display as well as trainers and their four-legged understudies belonging to the renowned State Stud in nearby Marbach. At stake in the LILA LOVES IT dog agility competition is the 2024 GERMAN MASTERS Agility Champion title. The Wolkenstein Riding Group’s spectacular performance in Medieval costumes concludes the show section. Following on at 21.25 hrs is the evening’s competitive highlight – the international Indoor Derby with natural obstacles for the Prize of WALTER solar.

A fixture in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle since 2022, the equestrian triathlon generates a fantastic atmosphere amongst the enthusiastic and emotional crowd. It is a thrilling mixture of the faultless – if possible – mastering of the course in the saddle, the sprint to the “shooting range” and the concluding “cone slalom” in a buggy. Every miss with the laser pistol incurs a penalty of an addition sprint around an obstacle. In 2023, German Sönke Aldinger and the Holstein gelding Wallach Crockett WZ (113.31 seconds) took top spot ahead of compatriot Michael Jung on Chalam LS (119.09). Third was fellow German Mario Walter in the saddle on the Holstein gelding Mufasa (121.54).

The “Eventing skills – a bit different” show featuring Lisa Röckener and her 13-year-old Valoo will fascinate the crowd. They will show the diversity of horsemanship which includes more than just the classical eventing disciplines but also impressive groundwork and liberty training. With creative specials that will amaze the spectators, Lisa Röckener will prove just how harmonious and multifarious the work with her long-time faithful companion Valoo is.

Next up, the crowd will be enthralled by the Marbach State Stud’s “Dance Through the Century” show. The Stud’s young talented trainers will display their skills not only when handling the noble horses but also when dancing. The combination of humans and horses creates a unique atmosphere that will have the spectators on the edge of their seats. It will also underline the quality of the schooling at the Marbach stud as well as the passion the trainers have for their work.

Dog agility for the 2024 GERMAN MASTERS Agility Champion title

There will be no lack of action and entertainment in the following PawKings’ LILA LOVES IT dog agility show. Brilliant specialist athletes – including German, European and world champions – will show their skills in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in a top-level competition. The dog and human duos will be aiming for faultless, quick runs when vying for the 2024 GERMAN MASTERS Agility Champion titles in three size – small, medium and large – classes. However, in what’s nevertheless basically a free for all, the small dogs compete against the big ones and the young handlers against the adults. The crowd can get behind the teams when the dogs race around the dog walk, A-frame and seesaw contact zones, disappear in tunnels or weave their way around poles.

Concluding the show section will be the Oswald-von-Wolkenstein Riding Group. Its riders are a group passionate competitive horsemen and women that take part every year in an historical horse show in South Tyrol. Wearing Medieval costumes, they are a reminder of the era of the famous minstrel, Oswald von Wolkenstein. The horse show in Italy attracts a large crowd and offers a unique spectacle centred on horsemanship and tradition. Riders compete in a variety of disciplines including an agility course and tilting the ring. They will display their passion and skills this year at the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS and the Oswald-von-Wolkenstein performance will be an unforgettable experience in the capital of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg.

Beginning at 21.25 hrs, the sporting highlight on the horse show’s first day will once again be the Prize of WALTER solar, the international Indoor Derby with natural obstacles. The four-time Olympic Champion and Horse Show Ambassador Michael Jung from nearby Horb will be looking to win for a tenth time against rivals from all over the world. Last year’s class went to the surprise winner, 21-year-old Pia Schmülling from Germany.
